Citrus Green Iced Tea

Ingredients:

- 4 cups water

- 4 green tea bags

- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 2 oranges)

- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

- 4 cups cold water

- Ice cubes

- Orange slices (for garnish)

- Lemon slices (for garnish)

- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Boil the Water:

   - In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

 

  1. Steep the Green Tea:

   - Remove the saucepan from heat and add the green tea bags.

   - Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5 minutes.

   - After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags, pressing gently to extract the liquid.

 

  1. Sweeten the Tea:

   - While the tea is still warm, add the honey or agave syrup.

   - Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

 

  1. Add Citrus Juices:

   - Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and lemon juice, stirring well to combine.

 

  1. Cool the Tea:

   - Add the 4 cups of cold water to the tea mixture to cool it down.

   - Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.

 

  1. Serve the Iced Tea:

   - Fill glasses with ice cubes.

   - Pour the chilled citrus green iced tea over the ice.

   - Garnish with orange slices, lemon slices, and mint leaves if desired.
