Classic Lemon Iced Tea
This refreshing Lemon Iced Tea is the perfect drink to cool down on a hot day. It's simple to make, deliciously zesty, and can be easily adjusted to suit your taste preferences.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of water
- 3-4 black tea bags (depending on how strong you like your tea)
- 1/2 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
- Juice of 3 large lemons (about 1/2 cup)
- Lemon slices for garnish
- Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
1. Boil Water:
Begin by bringing 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
2. Brew the Tea:
Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat. Add the tea bags to the hot water and allow them to steep for about 5 minutes. If you prefer a stronger tea flavor, you can let them steep a bit longer.
3. Dissolve Sugar:
Remove the tea bags, and while the tea is still hot, add the sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. This creates your sweet tea base.
4. Add Lemon Juice:
Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir well. The tartness of the lemon juice will balance the sweetness of the sugar.
5. Cool Down:
Allow the tea mixture to come to room temperature. You can speed up this process by placing the tea in the refrigerator.
6. Serve:
Fill glasses with ice cubes to the brim. Pour the cooled tea over the ice, garnish with lemon slices, and if desired, a few mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch.
7. Enjoy:
