Khoresh Morgh (Chicken Stew)
- 400g Chicken breast
- 220g Basmati rice
- 2 medium onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 medium potato
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- Turmeric, cumin, salt, black pepper, cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon saffron
How to cook:
First stage
To prepare a simple and delicious chicken stew, first sprinkle some salt, black pepper and turmeric on the chicken pieces, then leave the chicken pieces aside for 15 to 30 minutes to absorb the flavor of the spices.
Second stage
After this time, put a frying pan on the heat and add some oil. When the oil is well heated, add the chicken pieces to the pan and fry them. After the chicken pieces are fried, put them aside.
Third stage
Cut the onions into medium slices, then put a sauce pan on the heat. Now add the onion to the saucepan and fry a little, then add some turmeric and black pepper and fry with the onion for another minute. Now, add tomato puree to the materials and let them fry for 1 minute.
Forth stage
Chop the bell peppers and add them to the materials and fry them slightly for 2 minutes.
Fifth stage
Now, add the chicken pieces that we have already fried, then add one to two glasses of boiling water. put the lid on the saucepan and let the stew cook for one and a half hours on low heat.
(After 45 minutes, we add the brewed saffron along with a pinch of cinnamon to the materials).
Sixth stage
In the meantime, peel the potato and cut it into slices. wash them well so that the starches on the potatoes are completely removed. Now, put a frying pan on the heat and add some oil. After the oil is hot, add the potatoes to the pan. If you want, add a little turmeric to make the potatoes more colorful, then fry the potatoes well. in the end, we put the fried potatoes on a towel to remove their oil. Garnish the stew with fried potatoes and serve with rice.
Seventh stage
Wash once rice then put it into a saucepan add 1 cm water, 1 teaspoon oil and one teaspoon of salt to it and heat it for 35 minutes on medium heat.
