Raspberry Lemon Iced Tea

Ingredients:

- 4 cups water

- 4 black tea bags

- 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)

- 4 cups cold water

- Ice cubes

- Lemon slices (for garnish)

- Fresh raspberries (for garnish)

- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Boil the Water:

   - In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

 

  1. Steep the Tea:

   - Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags.

   - Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.

   - After steeping, remove the tea bags.

 

  1. Sweeten the Tea:

   - While the tea is still warm, add the honey or agave syrup.

   - Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

 

  1. Add Raspberries:

   - Add the raspberries to the tea mixture.

   - Allow the raspberries to steep in the warm tea for about 10 minutes to infuse their flavor.

   - Optionally, lightly mash some of the raspberries to release more flavor.

 

  1. Add Lemon Juice:

   - Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.

 

  1. Cool the Tea:

   - Add the 4 cups of cold water to the tea mixture to cool it down.

   - Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.

   - Fill glasses with ice cubes.

   - Pour the chilled raspberry lemon iced tea over the ice.

   - Garnish with lemon slices, fresh raspberries, and mint leaves if desired.
