Refreshing Peach Iced Tea

- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
- 2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Peach slices (for garnish)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

1. Boil the Water:
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

2. Steep the Tea:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags.
- Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags, pressing gently to extract the liquid.

3. Prepare Peach Syrup:
- In another saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the peaches are soft and the mixture has thickened slightly.
- Use a fork or potato masher to crush the peach slices, releasing their juice.
- Strain the peach mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.

4. Combine Tea and Peach Syrup:
- Add the peach syrup to the steeped tea and stir well.
- Pour in the 4 cups of cold water to dilute the mixture.

5. Chill the Tea:
- Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.

6. Serve the Iced Tea:
- Fill glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled peach iced tea over the ice.
- Garnish with peach slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

7. Enjoy:
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing peach iced tea!
